Moesia Inferior, Dionysopolis. Gordian III. A.D. 238-244. ? pentassarion (24 mm, 10.55 g, 12 h). [A]VT K M [ANT]ωNINOC ΓOPΔ-IANOC (AVΓ), laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right, facing draped bust of Serapis left, wearing kalathos / ΔIONV-COΠOLЄITΩN, emperor on horseback right, holding cornucopiae; in exergue, E. Jekov 16.2.1 (same dies as upper central illus.); Varbanov 545 (same dies as illus.). Dark brown and green patina, small pit on obverse. Nice very fine.
